What can I expect when I visit?
You can expect to find a warm and welcoming group of people who are glad that you have come to worship with them. We worship in a beautiful old sanctuary where we sing old standards and contemporary favorites. We have a choir and an organ, but incorporate guitars, ukuleles, and even the occasional tambourine in our service. Anyone is welcome to share their musical talents. The service is a traditional Presbyterian one, although we are continually looking for creative ways to enhance worship.
Would I be welcome at your church?
YES! Everyone is welcome at First Prez. We invite all persons of all different races, educational levels, sexual orientations, gender identity/expression, languages, disabilities and backgrounds to be part of our church family.
Do I have to know what I believe before I attend?
No. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome at First Presbyterian of Paris.
Regardless of your past church affiliations, we welcome you as we seek to be Christ’s faithful disciples with joy, laughter and lots of love.
Do you know what you believe?
Yes, we understand ourselves to be followers of Jesus Christ who are committed to serving Him. As Presbyterians, we are part of the Reformed Tradition which emphasizes the love of God, the grace of Jesus Christ, the work of the Holy Spirit and the freedom of the individual conscience. For more on what we believe, check out the Presbyterian Church (USA) website.
